Three People Arrested Following Stolen Vehicle Investigation

On the evening of August 5, 2026, members of the Winkler Police Service responded to a report of a theft from Walmart involving a stolen vehicle.

During the investigation, police learned that a second vehicle had also been stolen. With assistance from a witness, officers later located the vehicle travelling in the RM of Stanley.

Members of the Morden Police Service and Altona Police Service assisted with the investigation. One of the suspects was located with the assistance of the Morden Police Service K-9 Unit.

A 48-year-old male, a 33-year-old male and a 28-year-old female were arrested and remain in police custody.

The investigation is continuing, and formal charges have not yet been laid. The individuals are facing a number of charges, which may include:

  • Theft under $5,000;
  • Possession of property obtained by crime;
  • Driving while prohibited;
  • Impaired operation of a conveyance;
  • Operating a conveyance with a blood-alcohol concentration over 80 mg%;
  • Failing to comply with probation orders; and
  • Failing to comply with a release order.

Police will release further information as additional details become available.
