March 24 – April 6

March 24 – A complaint was received regarding a male who breached a protection order, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was later located on March 29th and arrested for Failing to Comply with a Protection Order (x3) and released on an Appearance Notice.

Staff from a local store reported a theft that occurred several minutes prior involving a male who was recognized from a previous shoplifting incident. Upon viewing video surveillance, police were able to identify the suspect and later attended his address where he was arrested for Theft Under $5000 and released on an Undertaking with a court date at Morden Provincial Court.

March 26 – Police received a report from a local thrift store regarding a male who was observed on video surveillance stealing merchandise. The male suspect was later located at his residence, returned the stolen items to police and was served a written adult caution.

March 27 – An off-duty police officer witnessed a theft while inside a local store and recognized the suspect. Officers attended the male suspect’s residence, arrested him for Theft Under $5000 and later released him on an Undertaking with a court date at Morden Provincial Court.

March 30 – While on patrol at approximately 1:45 a.m., police observed a vehicle travelling on Highway 14 at a high rate of speed and proceeded to conduct a traffic stop, during which time the odour of liquor emanated from the vehicle. The driver complied with a demand for a breath sample, which resulted in two “Warn” readings. He was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition which carried a 72-hour driver’s license suspension, $400 fine and three-day vehicle impoundment.

A report was received regarding a male who was assaulted with a weapon by his girlfriend and receiving medical care for his injury at the time of the call. Police located the female and arrested her for Assault with a Weapon, Failing to Comply with a Conditional Sentence Order (x3) and Failing to Comply with a Release Order. She was later remanded into custody to appear in Winnipeg Provincial Court.

A teenaged male reported historical assaults by a male known to him. Police located the male suspect, arrested him for Assault, Assault with a Weapon (x2) and Uttering Threats and released him on an Undertaking with a court date at Morden Provincial Court.

A female reported she was scammed after clicking on a Facebook ad and speaking with someone who convinced her to e-transfer cryptocurrency in exchange for a large payout. Over the course of approximately two months, she transferred several sums of money and attempted to secure a loan at the scammer’s request. She also supplied the scammer with a photo of her driver’s licence and other identity documents. She reported the incident to her bank and police also advised her to contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and Equifax.

April 1 – Staff of a local business reported that two separate customers failed to return equipment that they rented from the business. These files are still under investigation.

April 2 – A resident of Cambridge Crescent reported that a package was stolen from her front step. This investigation is ongoing.

April 3 – Police received a report regarding a vehicle that was stolen from a property on Roblin Boulevard East between March 13th and March 19th.

April 4 – Staff of a local business reported that an employee’s work email address was hacked and used to request that direct deposits be sent to a different bank account. The requested change was completed, and the fraud was discovered after the employee did not receive payment. This investigation is ongoing.

A male reported that his stolen debit card was used at a local store. This file is still under investigation.

April 6 – Police were dispatched to a local restaurant regarding a female harassing the complainant and hitting his vehicle. The suspect was located inside, arrested for Mischief Under $5000 and released on an Undertaking with a court date at Morden Provincial Court and served a banishment notice from the business the following day.
